love affair

"long distance love affair?"

This was the subject line in an email I received and almost deleted thinking it was one of those emails my spam filter should have grabbed.

Annmarie, married to husband Barry, 4 young children, lives in this historic Federal Colonial [c.1834] in a beach town south of Boston… and wanted a little long-distance help with her house. When she sent the pictures I nearly fell out of my chair. I adore the square and round column combo.

If you can’t see the plaque over the door- read: It’s an actual Sea Captain’s house (Capt Coleman Jenkins – lost at sea!) All original pine floors, warbly glass windows and 6 fireplaces.

She is such a pleasure and we are getting her all spiffed up… one room at a time. She also sent me this little happy… which I can’t wait to try.

I was delighted to have the company of this copper lantern today. She didn’t ask "how much longer til we get there", never said "I have to use the bathroom", did not get car sick, kept arms and legs inside the window, did not require one of those dvd players in the headrest, and was utterly a pleasure to travel with. Someday perhaps we’ll have children, but for now… lights are nice.
