Photo from Carolina's Flickr Favorites

When I saw this photo I thought "hey! that's exactly how I feel"… that says "tired" right?

I started this post this morning and couldn't quite get my words together.  Probably because I woke up at 2:30am and never fell back asleep.  That photo pretty much sums it up.  I was out of the office this morning, just came back in and what to my wondering eyes did appear???

Flowers

Flowers 2

Attached was a note from Bonnie thanking me for helping with her powder bath… the flowers are phenomenal… thank you!

Also bringing a smile to my face this morning was this email from Joni… with the subject line "check it out= Gambrel – new ELLE – the BASKET!!!!" – of course there was no text in the body of the email… none was needed with a photo like this:

Gambrel from joni

Oh yes indeed, that basket hung on the shower wall makes my heart race.  As does the exposed thermostatic shower valve, the vintage rise and fall pendant, the faucet, and the high-gloss black door.  DELISH.  Joni has a little project going on in her own house she needs to share with the world!

  5. Thanks for my dinner tonight! Y’all are too good to me! Those flowers are BEAUTIFUL!!
    P.S. Are you proud?

  6. Ugh! I hate when I wake up like that in the middle of the night! DARLING kitchen! Love the light fixture and those tall cabinet pulls! Beautiful flowers and I want the DR. NUT crate. Love that black bathroom door. I saw a black interior door on a home tour Saturday and it was a satin finish. Nice, but just not the same impact as that high gloss!

  7. Erika,
Before I read your post I thought that was you on the hanger. I was about to stat humming the Twilight Zone music—-yikes. Glad you aren’t really on a hanger. Love the pix and flowers.

  8. Your flowers and kitchen are BEAUTIFUL!
Oh yes I love the Dr. Nut crate I have been search for one since this is one of many nicknames I give my love.
Also, thanks Erika for helping me out without knowing it! I have been mentioning to my love I wanted to change our master bath door to a glass one. He started calling me Mrs. Nut! Now I have prove to show him others have the same idea. It won’t be clear glass!!!
    Thanks for sharing!! xoxo
P.S. I don’t mean to open a can of worms, but wasn’t your kitchen supose to be feature in a magazine?

  9. Flowers are very beautiful. I heard Joni is redoing her kitchen I can’t wait to see it. I know she doesn’t care about functionality just good looks so I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!!
On the mag, I too heard you were to be featured in CL but since they closed what will happen? xo, MB

  10. what beautiful pictures! we have a window in our guest bath shower. on the other side of the window is the back porch…yikes. what guest wants to shower with an audience?! what would you do about our predicament? you need to go and get you some sleep!

  11. Alison (Brazil) says:

    Everything. Crazy. Beautiful.

  12. beautiful! the flowers and that bath, wow.

  13. Could you at some point write a mini-tutorial for those of us who are window-challenged? I love the curtains in your kitchen (and noticed a similar style in the house you finished in Tallahassee), and was wondering if you could provide even a brief explanation of how they were accomplished. Thanks! Great blog–I read it all the time!

  14. Goodness (urban) gracious!!

  15. Your kitchen is absolutely incredible, as is that bathroom! Gorgeous both of them. And that top photo certainly says tired; I hope you get more rest soon!

  16. Thanks for posting the pics of the office kitchen! Since Cottage Living wasn’t able to share the wealth on your kitchen, thanks to Bonnie for sending the flowers so we could get a peak!

  17. Great, great post Erika! I did think at first that that was YOU on the hanger! So funny!…..Your curtains are great…love your choice of fabric…..You have EXCELLENT taste! I am in love with the flowers you received…they are DREAMY!
    Blessings to you!

  18. Love, love, love your kitchen!!!

  19. Hello.
Love your blog, and that bathroom.
Any idea where to source master bath shower basket (you are right about the details!) or light fixture? I wonder if light fixture needs to be wet rated given proximity to shower. Thank you!

  20. I’ve got lots of the Dr nut crates. In much better shape. Shape than that one email if you want too buy. Dpotter920@Gmail. Com
