gobble it up :: Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle

Thanksgiving two years ago my cousin (by marriage) and her dad (that would make him my uncle by marriage) made Paula Dean’s Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle.  It was insanely good.  I think this year I’ll be making it… maybe you should consider it too!?  It’s easy, which is important considering my life lately.  And LOOK 5 stars with 702 reviews!  Let me know if you try this one!

  1. Does it have a layer of beef sautee`d with peas and carrots?? (Friends episode :) ) Looks amazing! I might have to try it!

  2. Oh my goodness- YUM. I am SO making that.

Life with baby gets easier! Then it gets harder again, which is my life now. But you’ll manage beautifully, I’m sure. :)

  3. I made these in individual punch size cups a few weeks ago for a lunch I catered. They were so cute and yummy too.

  4. I’m making a pumpkin trifle(out of Southern Living mag) tomorrow night for supper club, but this recipe looks more delicious! I will have to give it a try next time!

  5. eek! I want to sit down with a big spoon and gobble that up.

  6. I just took a peek at it and I think ever i could make that! yippee.

  7. mmmm! sounds perfectly fallish!

  8. printed and ready to go. Looks like the perfect easy peasy thanksgiving desseasy…I mean dessert. sorry.

  9. it looks yum-o!
to go off of beth’s comment “what’s not to like…beef? good!”

you will find your way with a baby and work…someday you’ll look and realize “hey i’m doing it! cool!” and you can smile and realize the time flew by.

and you will get some sleep again.
    it does happen. :)

  10. This looks delightful. I LOVE pumpkin and gingerbread. I’m making this!

  11. I’m going to make this one on Friday night for a dinner with friends! I have been trying to come up with a good seasonal dessert to make, so thanks for the idea! Looks so tasty and I do love a trifle; they’re so pretty!

  12. Man. Oh how I wish I was your cousin, then that would mean I would get a taste,
guess I will add this to my list.
    looks darn good.

  14. I’ve been making this for the past 3 years…it’s AMAZING!! You are right, it is definitely easy, but OH SO good!! It’s a definite winner!

  15. The only way to improve that recipe might be to add dark chocolate. Perhaps chocolate shavings on the top instead of the crumbled ginger snaps? Yum!

  16. Yum! Thakns for the link. There’s a video version, you know. My children sat all around my laptop entralled for nearly an hour. I think it’s Paula’s drawl ;)

  36. Kimberly Wells says:

I just watched Paula Dean make this two days ago :) It looks delicious… I am taking the easy way out and picking up desserts from the Cheescake Factory and taking them back home to Alabama. I might put them on a nice cake plate though to make it look as though I really made them! ha

  37. that looks AWESOME! i’m definitely making it sometime in the next two weeks…perhaps it’ll cheer me up…i wonder how long before something can’t be considered post-partum depression?

  38. I love me some Paula Deen. I don’t think that I have ever made something of hers that didn’t taste good:)

  39. Oh, joy! Trifles are my favorite. And this one ticks all the boxes: pumpkin, gingerbread, whipped cream. I’ll throw on some chocolate shavings, too. In fact, I just decided that I’m making this on Saturday.

  40. Erika- This looks so tasty! I’ve been wanting to get away from the usual pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. :)

  41. totally made it last year! it is awesome, and not too sweet – it’s just right!
i normally make a brownie with heath bar version throughout the year, but decided to switch it up for thanksgiving. totally worth the switching!

  42. It looks amazing… now I just have to figure out how to make it sugar free.

  43. I love your blog!!! That looks too yummy.

  46. Loving all of the Friends comments, since that’s immediately where my mind went! Thanks for the introduction to this recipe Erika–I’m going to try it out tonight with the family. (To add yet another Friends mention: When I told my sister that I was making a trifle, she advised me to make sure the recipe’s pages aren’t stuck together.)

  47. looks so yummy….may just try it!

  48. Thanks for the inspiration – I went and made this for Thanksgiving – STILL eating it however because it is a HUGE amount but it is surprisingly tastey – I received many a compliment on Thanksgiving! Enjoy!

  49. I tried it a couple of days ago – DIVINE!!! :-) I added crystallized orange peel to the gingerbread and it was perfect! :-)

  50. My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of
your post’s to be precisely what I’m looking for. Does
one offer guest writers to write content for you personally?
I wouldn’t mind writing a post or elaborating on most of the subjects you write in relation to here.
    Again, awesome site!

  51. It’s nearly impossible to find knowledgeable people for this subject,
but you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
