I finally took pictures of my new sofa and chairs, a few people have asked and I keep forgetting!
The sofa and chairs are by Best Slipcover Company*, (while their website is generic, their products are great) both my sofa and my chairs the Rachel… both are linen… the sofa has the box pleat skirt. Now, the sofa is a purchase I have been thinking about for quite some time… I dreamed of this and this… I think I have a good compromise, and saved a few lot of pennies too, which is a recessiony-good move. I wanted a slipcover… because then if I tire of the natural linen or the print (which will probably happen first) I can change it up. I like the comfortable look and feel of a slipcover too, and the fact that they are pre-shrunk and can be tossed in the washer and dryer is nice.
The fabric stopped me in my tracks… I did not recognize it… I think that's why I liked it so much. The colors worked well with my house and I liked the large pattern. My rug is herringbone seagrass bound in alligatory-leather.
Did I mention they are unbelievablycomfortable? Do you see where the little terrihuahuas spend their time when we are at home? My dining chairs in the background… can't see them too well… but they are klismos-ish Milling Road chairs, now discontinued, but when I found them at Goodwill, all 6 for $150 when they were still current. They retailed for about $500 per chair. I think that would classify as a 'deal', wouldn't you?
See where I hung my man? My lamps are all old… the table is skirted in LuLu DK.
That's all for today folks! Happy Monday!
*- if you see see something you can't live without @ that website… let me know. And one of my old sofas is still for sale if any locals are interested.

Would love to know where you found the herringbone seagrass rug. The toom looks so comfortable.
Love everything Erika!! Very beautiful, comfy and so inviting! Thank you for sharing with us. xoxo
What draws me in is all the beautiful, natural light – so lovely and inviting.
Very nice!
These are beautiful! I have purchased my slip-covered sofas and chars at Quatrine but hey are SO expensive…so I will have to check this out!!!
Oh wow, this is beautiful. So well done. I actually like your new sofa better than the Windsor Smith one.
Finally, I get to see your house on the internet despite living 3 miles apart. Ha!!! Thanks for sharing.
I am new to your blog but am enjoying it so much. Yay for this post — I was hoping you’d share more pictures of your home! The professional jobs are stunning but it’s always so fun to see what people do on their own dime, in their own space. Thanks for sharing — everything looks lovely!
I’m in the market for two chairs and a sofa for our very boring white-walled living room. Have you ever ordered the Charles for a client? I really like the look of the Rachel, but wonder if it would be to casual for our living room. I’ve been reading for awhile. I was born and raised in Dothan and I believe my brother went to high school with your brother in law, Justin. He also went to Auburn even after his big sister went to Bama!
I LOVE the fabric for the chairs! Your ottoman is great. The art, I LOVE it, would have only loved it better if it was truly your man (which I thought it was, and I am saying for you, as for me, I would want it my man, if you know what I mean)
I really like your touches of “blue” for a lack of a better name. ?azure? anyway, I think your style is moveinable and loverightawayable.
Great fabric on those chairs! Girl after my own heart….I can always go for a good deal!
i am a loyal reader of your blog – love it! and i do want to get some additional information about a sectional i saw on the bsc website. we have an odd-shaped family room and to maximize space need to extend a sectional along the back wall. after endless searching, it appears the manhattan might work perfectly! can you send a catalog or link w/ additional info, i.e. pricing, fabric options, etc? thanks so much!
Wow, Erika!! I love it all. I am so jealous!
Great choices. I especially love the print on the chair and the fabulous box pleats on your sofa. Heaven.
so beautiful and livable. i love the hooks for your coats too.
lOVE IT! those chairs are fabulous – and i adore the pleats on the sofa – good job, enjoy it in good health!
Thanks for giving us a peak!! It’s beautiful! I love the chairs and have been looking for some for my house. Can you give us an idea of how much they cost?? I looked on the website but could not tell! Thanks!
Wow…I came over from sandras and just LOVE your style. I adore those slipcovers…great choice. cherry
So refreshing! I love the chairs and the fabric..and your wood flooring!
Love your Rachel sofa! I’ve been searching for the exact style in a loveseat – I saw that BSC carries a loveseat in the Rachel line – it’s the perfect size. Just wondering about the price!!! I live in NY – how would I go about obtaining pricing, fabric, etc. information!!! Thanks.
P.S. Please show us more of your house – it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Diana
No surprise, completely gorgeous. Your light is amazing. Oh, happy day. It makes everything just a little bouncier, doesn’t it?
I literally gasped when the photos loaded. I love love love your sofa!!! Now I want to slipcover mine right this instant, seriously.
Erika,
I love the chairs and sofa!! That fabric is amazing and the slipcovers look fabulous (as does everything!) It all looks fantastic…and comfortable. Great job!
beautiful!!! You have amazing taste!
Love it, it’s so fresh and airy!
Love your house. What is the fabric that you used on your chairs?
It’s beautiful, Erika! I love the chairs and the sofa! I think washable slipcovers are the only way to go. I, too, would like more info on the chairs. Have been looking for comfortable English roll arm (is that what they’re called) chairs for quite some time.
And I can’t believe you found your dining chairs at Goodwill. Unbelievable.
Once again, thank you for sharing!
Kerry
i wonder if those terrihuahuas have room under that table for one more. i might could fit. might. it would be worth the wonderful view, i am certain!! you can find the best deals. do you teach beautiful bargain shopping 101??
I have the same PB pillows on my sofa:) Do you know if I can just order the slip covers? I have an old chair that needs a slip cover and it looks just like the Rachel chair and the measurements are similar.
Beautimous!! Love that fabric!!
What’s the name of the fabric on the chairs? It’s really great!
Thanks for the sneak peak inside Erika! It is all so lovely. Where can you order the BSC furniture? I’ve been looking for a good slip covered sofa for sometime now. Especially with my little sticky hands I have here.
Erika, I LOVE the sofa! We are about to order a new sofa in the next few weeks, but I think I may have changed my mind now that I’ve seen this one. Can you email me any info on it? ashleycgentry@gmail.com. Thanks!
Hi guys! Thanks for all your nice feedback! Those of you who expressed interest specifically, I’m trying to email you individually. Bare with me… busy day today. The fabric on the chairs- I have no idea what it is- which like I said, is why I was drawn to it. It’s just one of Best Slipcover Company’s fabric options. It’s called “Malino”, but you know – they change the name of any fabric they chose to stock. Thanks for all the comments and questions!!
BEAUTIFUL~ I can’t wait to sit in them this weekend! Love you!
Absolutely beautiful and so comfortable looking. Thanks so much for sharing. Please post more yumminess from you house!
I wish there was a 360 zoom-thingee on your blog. I want to see around every corner!! What a beautiful, sunny, gorgeous, un-decorator-y, perfectly imperfect, snorgle on that linen slice o’ heaven home you have, my dear!
I always learn something new from you! I love the new sofa and chairs. The fabric choice is fabulous! And the day light in your home is so lovely. Thanks for sharing a snippet of your home.
I love the skirt detail on your sofa. The chair fabric is great.
With three kids and two dogs, I am a huge fan of slipcovers!
Great job.
xo

Beautiful home! I love your fabric choices and especially your Herringbone Seagrass rug. If you don’t mind my asking, where is it from?
-Meredith
And all of a sudden I “need” a new sofa. I absolutely love your new sofa and chairs! And your home is beautiful! Regarding that fabric on your chairs…it’s available at Calico Corners! I saw it on the Material Girls blog who recently posted about Calico’s latest offerings. You can see it here:
http://www.materialgirlsblog.com/2009/01/calicos-cut-to-order.html
Wow wow wow! Long time blog reader, had to comment. God, I wish I lived in FL so I could use you.
Just adorable.
I know the sofa/chairs are only available to the trade, but how would little ol’ me get ahold of them? I am so unimaginative and might have to copy you on that couch.
LOVE! More pictures of your house, please
Erika,
Not surprising how fabulous your new pieces look. We covet those chairs. We miss you at Willow, come see us!
Erika – I’m in love with your new sofa. The end.
if you email all the girls about the sofas, will you include me too?! I’m in the market, but not until this summer when our borrowed couches/chairs are taken back!
Beautiful home. You are too good!
FANTASTIC!!!
Um, yeah, you might have the most enviable house I’ve ever seen. But, then again, can’t say I’m surprised. I love that painting in the background…wow…
Hey Erika! question – as a fellow doggie lover, do you think you’ll regret linen? We too have a linen slipcovered sofa and chaise and it costs me an arm & a leg to have dry cleaned… because our goldies LOVE laying on them and we can’t say NO to them, are you kidding??
So, my goal is to get new slips that are machine washable…and make my life easier. (and yes, before anyone comes over to the house, I have to vacuum our sofa! how pathetic?)
Honestly, I can’t stop looking at this post. Your sofa is just beautiful, as are the chairs. Just wonderful!
Love everything. But what I enjoy most about your work is your attention to every detail in a room! My eyes were totally drawn to what appear to be fabric mattings you used as part of your framed artwork. So creative! Let me know when you are ready to decorate a house in Seattle!
Love everything, naturally!
I would like to know about obtaining the sofa as well. Love it, love the box pleats. Do you think they will wash up okay?
Everything else is gorgeous too, but no surprize there, considering the talented creator!
Thanks for sharing. Oh yea, the rug comes from?
looks awesome! i wouldn’t have considered slipcovers until now, they look so good. and i love your man!
That fabric is “stopping me in my tracks too”! I love it! Great choices, Erika and with your usual good taste and flair!!
I am also interested in details about your rug–exactly what we have been looking for. Everything looks great!!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. You have great taste and a great sense of humor, too! I’m sad you don’t live in Chapel Hill, NC!! Looking at your fun fabric on your chairs reminded me to ask you if you knew of any great on-line fabric resources? I have two small children and it’s hard to get out, not to mention the resources aren’t that handy here. I used to live in Atlanta and Dallas and I was spoiled with home interior resources. Any input you have would be MUCH appreciated!
Those are slipcovers??? Ooooooh, i love them! How much is your old sofa? I know a local there, haha.
love your blog-it is one of my daily reads! your home is beautiful! i would love info on the couch. price and if it is available in a chocolate brown linen. i slipcovered my old couch in a light linen but it gets dirty too fast with my 3 kiddos. thanks
I love the new sofa, its stunning! The box pleat skirt is to die for!!
i love the living room furniture — i tried to check out Best Slipcover Company but am not having any luck getting a response from them. were you able to order your pieces online?
Everything you post is georgous! You have great taste. Would you mind sharing the paint color of your walls?
Everything you post is georgous! Would you mind sharing your wall paint color? And maybe also where you ordered your rug? The cotton binding gets really dirty from my puppy! Thanks!!!
Erika,
thanks so much for the update. I am in the process of ordering 2 cream linen chairs with the box pleat from Pottery Barn-I have not yet placed the order but wondering how the price compares-I love the Rachel. I just love that look! Your house is beautiful. Love your style. I know you are so busy so if you don’t have the time, just let me know. Thanks!!
Beautiful! I’d love to sit myself down there with a nice cuppa! The natural light, colors and pieces all work towards a cohesive, comfortable room. Just charming!
I absolutely love the chair fabric. It is just perfect. Your blog is my favorite.
Any suggestions on where to get just a slipcover? We have young kids, so I don’t want to invest in a brand new couch—but, my goodness, our couch looks horrible. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Love your blog. Great eye! What is the paint color in that room? Thanks!
BSC is great. Their fabrics are so fashion forward and the price points are great!
Erika….I live in Auburn & used to run Behind The Glass/Terra, so of course I recognize you & your sister! And Jennie Marie & I worked together as well. Love Urban Grace Interiors! I actually just had my new sofa from BSC, Rachel in chocolate velvet, delivered this week! So comfy, bout to go take an afternoon nap on it.
i love the new stuff. lovely, as always. i NEED the green and white striped fabric on the couch under your matchbook collection. where can i find something similar that won’t totally brake the bank? i have two couches (big and love-seat) that i’m redoing my loft/play room.
Your room looks beautiful and the natural light in your home is incredible. Great job.. LOVE the chair fabric.
Best,
Julie
LOVE. IT. ALL.!! love the chair fabric, the sofa pleats, the light pouring in, zebra fabric, alligator trim (how perfect is that touch for Florida?!) I love that skirted table fabric and think i recognize it from a home office redo that was in Cottage Living. It was one that Fran Keenan redid.
Now for questions…
what color are your walls?
what is that fabric on the bottom of your curtains..silk? I like that idea.
where is the zebra fabric from.
THANK you for showing us your darling home. Can’t wait for more! It is just so precious!
Girl, you just have great taste. I enjoy your light filled photos of beautiful things. All three paintings were a score. Even the small german ones in the prior post look like they could be valueable…aren’t they early cubism? I’ve seen those go for a lot, even on ebay. Take em to the roadshow!
Love your chairs! Did you get them at In Detail? I saw them in Dallas the other day at their showroom- they look so great in person!
LOVE box pleats and love the fabric – very, very pretty and comfortable looking!
Erika,
Like all the other people I loved this pos (catching up on my blogs!). What a fantastic resource and I love your house.
Hi! Would you mind providing me with the name of the paint in your Living room. It’s beautiful!
Hey Erika! I am a big fan of your blog and absolutely love your design style. I am in the market for a new couch and wondered if you could give me more info on pricing and ordering from BSC. Thanks! Celice
Hi!
I just found this post and would love more info on ordering chairs from the BSC. Hope you’re still checking these comments! I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks.
Hi, I absolutely adore your style. I would love to know the name of the striped pillows if possible. I have been looking for them for a long time now!!! thanks.
Hi! I was also wondering if there was additional information on ordering the sofa and/or chairs from the BSC. That’s sofa is perfect and I love the chairs. If you are still reading the comments I’d love any info you could give.
Thanks!
hi Erika,
I love your sofa, and am considering going this route. I do love all the fabrics at BSC. Over a year later, do you still love it and think it’s super comfy? We are moving to a larger house, and my husband requests a sofa that is long enough and good for napping! {our current 76″ sofa isn’t cuttin’ it!}
thanks!
Sarah
Hi Erika. I am also looking for information regarding ordering and pricing from BSC. I’m looking for a chair for my daughters room.
Thanks! Love your blog.
Hi Erika, we are in the market for a sofa and I love yours. Can you send me more information? Thanks!
