  7. Looks like a lovely, White Christmas!

  8. Love the pictures!! thanks for sharing!!!

  9. It looks perfectly wonderful.

  10. i am gonna go out on a limb here and assume that that picture of someone listening to celine dion’s oh holy night on youtube was doing so thru my post on it being my favorite holiday song on my blog. just sayin. it IS possible. even if extremely narcissistic. ;)

  11. The perfect holiday…loving family and good food and laughter and SNOW!!!! It’s magical.

  12. It just looks magical! Hope the rest of your trip is wonderful.

  13. Dear Erika,
I might as well come out from behind the curtain and declare myself a fan. I’m such a lurker and well—-since I feel like I’m best friends with your dear sister (ie. serious blog stalker)—I just needed to ‘out’ myself. You girls are unbelievable with the most adorable families ever. I would NEVER invite you over to my very unorthodox/eclectic/ house (for fear all my decorating inadequacies would be revealed) but I would love to hire you for a few projects. I swoon over all the pics of your home and office—and of course now I swoon over that sweet Sloane baby. Tell Darby hi for me and accept my very southern smothering of hugs to all!
    lots of love,

  14. oh and I forgot to say that anyone who loves cousin eddie is a friend of mine! I watched a slew of highlights on Youtube this weekend. So funny!

  15. Love them all – looks so fun and festive.

  16. What a beautiful gothic revival!!!!

  17. Great shots! Your family is so cute… Hope you had a very {warm} Christmas & have a {fun} New Years! Can’t wait to see more pictures in the New Year… Sloane is adorable!
    Thanks for sharing!!!!

  18. Is that Christmas Vacation on t.v. behind Chance? It’s a tradition with my husband’s family that we have to watch it every Christmas. We roar and then talk about the family member who most closely resembles Cousin Eddie.

  19. looks like so much fun!

  20. These photos make me want to move to a farm…really beautiful!!!

  21. Erika:

Got the link from Olivia Kirtley on a recent e-mail and thought I would look into it. My how you’ve been busy since the Southeast youth group! LOVE your pics and the your business philosophy (when can you come and redo our house? :) ). Hope all is well.

God is soooooo good, isn’t he? : )

    Enjoy a bountiful 2010!

    Mark (Snyder)

PS: Is that dog your dad is holding a toy fox terrier? It looks like the dog we had growing up. Also, I think your parents met my parents over some antique stuff a while back (my dad has since gotten to be buddies with Jonathan Blum, another antique aficionado, whom I think your dad worked with at Yum and lived near your old house in Anchorage–small world).

  22. What a fun, fun Christmas celebration! Thanks for sharing your pics. Your little girl is ADORABLE!!!

  23. I was over on Darby’s blog, and I saw a picture of Sloane being fed with a glass bottle. It gave my heart a little jolt of joy, as I *loved* using glass bottles with my son, Burke. I had no actual good reason for using them, other than the fact that I simply enjoyed the way I could get them so clean that they gleamed. :)

One (very sleep deprived) morning, I had just washed up a load of glass bottles, and a poem made it’s way into my mind. (It’ silly, I warn you. Very, very silly.)

But I thought I’d share, anyway! Merry Christmas!

  24. Beautiful photos! Such a different kind of Christmas from the Southern California one I am use to. Again… beautiful!

  25. I love the pictures of the farm. They remind me of place we saw while we were in Virginia. The red barn especially is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  26. great photos!
    thanks for sharing..

  27. What fun!
So glad you are getting to spend some time with your family.
I wanted to stop by and wish you and your family a Wonderful, Healthy, and Happy New Year!

  28. happy new year E!!! XOXO

  29. Oh, that BARN!! And what family fun! The whole scene looks like a Christmas movie itself! Love it!!

  30. Looks like the family had a great time! :) The children are so sweet. Sloane looks like a content little girl (love your christmas cards – thanks for sharing – Marla is awesome). Love the closed caption :) I am addicted. Haha. Happy ‘New Years Eve’ Day. Cheers from Toronto!

  31. Erika, Just a quick note to say that I just love you and Darby and your beautiful families. This year I took the time to read both of your archives, and I have just been struck by how fortunate you are to have both the family you grew up in as well as the families you’re building on your own. I can tell by the amount of love in your posts how aware you are of how rare it is to be blessed with such a wonderful nuclear and extended family. Thank you for sharing your life and your design talent with all of us! Happy new year.

  32. I just recently discovered your blog and I love it! You are talented!

  33. looks like tons of fun!
    Happy Happy!!

  34. Just discovered your blog and love it! Hoping you’ll tell me where you got that adorable green trench with the yoke…I think I need one. Thanks and happy new year!

  35. Hi there…this is completely unrelated to your post and I understand that you could potentially be quite busy right now…but if you can help that would be awesome! I saw that post from long ago that was in Apartment Therapy about your den/office/laundry area and the image of your skirted desk has never left my brain. I think you used a P Kaufman fabric for it with paisleys…so- I am working on creating my own office space and my husband made two simple desks- one of which I would like to make a skirt for and then cover with glass or acrylic. It is the perfect way for me to store things and create a chic office. I wanted to know if you had any pointers regarding the size of your desk in relation to amount of yards needed to make the skirt…also did you leave the side facing the wall open to save $ on fabric? Any advice you could give me would be awesome. Thank you!

I have f/u question about a blog “Kitchen Intervention” from Jan 9, 2009. You kindly included paint information (F & B colors) about her walls, windows and sashes, and cabinets. Can you email me the style of paint finishes she chose for her cabinets, walls, and sashes/doors?

    thank you
