trina turk brought her A game

We love F. Schumacher around here!  Trina Turk’s outdoor fabrics were just what the doctor ordered for this otherwise all white rooftop patio.  The square in the middle of the banquette is a firepit.  Beverage fridge to the right.  And not shown right behind me (your photographer) sits a hot tub with a wrap-around bar and stools.  Not a bad a place to hang out, not a bad view either!  And you should hear their stereo system. I take that back,  you probably CAN hear their stereo system.  And if that hot Florida sun starts to bother, there is a big canopy sail that they can hoist up to protect themselves from those pesky UVAs and UVBs.

This was a very fun project!  The Architect: Gary Justiss and The Builder: Artisan

AND…  I’ll take this opportunity to tell you that I haven’t seen any oil here.  So if you are planning a vacation to this wonderful little place I call home, come on!

    Pretty McPrettiness!

Hey E, do you know anything about hotel Saba in Rosemary beach? I was looking for a hotel down there and everything seems to either be rental properties for families/groups or Days Inn. Any tips?

I realize you have no spare time for my travel agent duties so whenever…;o)

  15. So pretty! This must be Aly’s Beach. I just got home from there on Saturday. Oh the white! Your fabric choice is beautiful and so is the rooftop! It truly is a beautiful place. Love the whites and blues. I decided, while on vacation this week, that my favorite color is blue. It has taken me 27 years to figure it out but it is now decided!

    Thanks for sharing!

I cannot tell you how excited I was to see your post today. I recently recovered some bamboo/wicker chair seats for my patio and made pillows out of the medallion fabric. I still need to recover a bench in the ikat–I just haven’t gotten to that project yet. When I read today’s post, I thought to myself, “If Erika loves it, my taste must be okay.”

  21. This post should be called “Erika brought her A game”! So beautiful! What kind of rocks are in the fire pit? Do the rocks stay in there while there is a fire? Love everything – amazing!!! Beautiful job!

  22. Looks like you brought your game. I’m glad to hear there’s no oil. My husband and I are celebrating our 3 yr anniversary in seaside this weekend.

  23. love it! We are using some Trina Turk on a terrace I am working on in Tribeca. These are so fun! Might have to throw a few in.

  27. oh my goodness…these photos make my heart skip a beat. I lived on the beaches of so.wal. during the summers in college and oh how I long to go back there! you do have the life, my friend. Doing something you love next to the most beautiful beaches on the planet! They’ve been voted the whitest sand for years, haven’t they?! :) Love this project! great job!

  28. Beautiful Erika! You complement the architecture well. I can’t wait to see it with the awning. I was there last Monday and the Fiacco’s had a crowd up there. It works wonderfully as a party space.

  29. Love Trina Turk! This is just gorgeous!!!

  30. Wow!!! That is probably one of the best outdoor spaces I have seen in awhile! It feels so fresh with the bright white & the amazing blues!!!

  31. WOWZAS! How flippin gorgeous?! That fabric is amazing – and to be an outdoor fabric(!) I LOVE IT! You are one fabulous decorator. The fire pit with the blue crystals/glass looks amazing with the rest. This sweet lounge/hang-out feel is exactly what I’m trying to cultivate on our deck right now =) Thanks for the inspiration! I can only imagine how amazing it is at night – plus the hot tub and bar – geeze, how sweet life must be there ;)

  32. This has to be Alys beach. We spent the whole day in their pool on Saturday. Fantastic! My heart still belongs to Seaside, but I could be convinced to stay at AB sometime.

The blues are amazing. Love it!

  33. Imagining myself there now.

I like it! All my little dream needs are some friends and a good cocktail.

  47. I might also add that the detail in the floor inlay where the pebble border intersects each other in a 45 degree angle is really beautiful.

Hi Erika, Tried to email but it did not go through. This is your favorite cousin. Drew & I are refinishing our basement the past couple of months. We are trying to figure out what color hardware to put throughout the house. In the kitchen with stainless steel appliances and bathrooms are an oil rubed bronze? I was just wanting your opinion on whether or not I should continue the color throughout the entire house. I can not make up my mind on whether or not to spend extra money on buying oil rubbed bronze cover plates for switches and receptacles. Do you usually keep the same color hardware thoughout the whole house??? I need your help woman!!!lol. Let me now what you think. thank You trent 812-499-5756 cell
