your questions answered

I never know whether to answer your questions in the comment section or not, because if you are like me… you might ask a question but never go back to see if it has been answered… so here are a few answers to questions asked in the post before last.

Sloane’s felt hair clips are by Giddy Giddy.  We bought them from Little Red, a new local boutique that is fabulous!  If you are interested in ordering some, email Tara and she can order for you!  info[at]shoplittlered[dot]com

Sloane’s bubble is the Berkley Bubble in Poppy by Bella Bliss.  A client friend introduced me to this line (she gave us a pink seersucker swimsuit that is to-die-for cute), and then another girlfriend bought this bubble as a gift for Sloane when she visited last month!  We love it!!  Both of my friends are in Kentucky… which I claim as my ‘home’ state, and makes me very happy that Bella Bliss is based in Lexington, KY.

My sunglasses are Sama (their website isn’t working- here’s their facebook page).  They are the Club-S in brown/blue.  I bought them from a friend, he bought them at the eyeglass store at Destin Commons (?).  That’s all I know about them.  They are the nicest sunglasses I’ve ever owned and I hope I don’t lose them or break them. ;)

The Wonderbar.  Are you ready?  Here’s my review… it’s been about 10 weeks since I bought mine.  My pores are much smaller.  My skin is much softer.  My skin is much tighter.  My skin coloring is more even.  It’s really darn good.  I bought it because my face freaked out (broke out) this Spring when I started using sunscreen on a daily basis again.  I also had just stopped breastfeeding… so the freak out might have been hormone induced?  Who knows!  Anyway… still have the occasional break out, which the wonderbar doesn’t seem to help with… but for the most part I am very pleased with this product.  Everyone’s skin is different, but if you are on the fence, I say give it a try!!

  1. Thank you, you’re the best! My favorite blog :)

  2. Alexandra says:

My favourite too! Oh, hold on! Darby’s too! You both are great!

  3. I ordered the WONDERBAR after I saw it on your site. I love it. If skin is just so much SOFTER! and I use it with my “Clarisonic” facebrush for extra “oomph!”

  4. I love the hairclips! The owl is adorable. Thank you for sharing your awesome ideas with us! I’m always inspired!

  5. Thank you! I know you had already answered my question about the hair clips via email, but I had also wondered about these others and didn’t want you to think I was a freak stalker. :)

  6. I’ve just run out of my first trial on wonderbar, there’s a little sliver left that has to last until I get to Kuhl-Linscomb (for fellow Houstonians looking for it) for more. I would agree, tighter, smoother skin, but sometimes I’m still breaking out–the girl @k-l said that would happen since the bar is extracting the oil. It’s worth it for anyone wondering!

  7. Carolyn says:

Note on the acne. I’ve been trying things forever on my bad (sometimes cystic) breakouts that seem hormonal. Then, a lady at the Laura Mercier counter suggested I try regular orange Dial antibacterial soap and it has helped so much! Now, I don’t know how well this mixes with the Wonderbar, which I’m dying to have…seeing as I live in Austria, maybe I can go scrounge up some clay in my backyard and voila!

  8. I was wondering about The Wonderbar. I keep hearing these amazing reviews…

  9. Thank you for the feedback on the Wonderbar! Given your review and how fabulous your skin always looks I’m going to splurge and purchase for myself today!

  10. I heard through the grapevine that you were a Chi O at Auburn. If that’s the case, Miss Sloane needs the owl hairclip ;) Too cute!

  11. Hi Erika! Thank you for the nice review. Just for informational purposes, would you mind sharing which moisturizer and sunscreen you are using. I hear sometimes that people continue to break out a little while using the bar, and for you, it seems like you should be past it by now….So, I ask them which products they are using and sometimes, it ends up being a product that is causing the little cycle of breakouts. They stop using it and the breakouts stop….simple as that. Many times, it is a moisturizer with added spf that is causing it or some sort of powder.
Anyway, I would love to help identify the problem- it could help others too! Glad you are seeing the benefits!

  12. I’m so glad you posted your thoughts on the Wonderbar. I’ve been on the fence but I think I’m going to give it a try!

  13. Your little girl always looks so nice!
I think I might have to pick up some of those clips my girl has soo much hair I’m always looking for cute things to put in it!

  14. I am on my second bar and I totally agree with your review! I think it is a great product, and my skin tone is much better! I have still had a few breakouts here and there, but overall love it!!

  15. Justine says:

Thanks for the info, Bella Bliss even delivers to Australia. :)

  16. Thanks for reviewing the Wonderbar. I actually took a leap of faith and tried it last week and have had the same results as you…softer skin, tighter skin and pores are smaller. Overall, I like it, just wish it came in a liquid form (I haven’t used a bar of soap in years).

  17. just ordered my second wonder bar. i’ve been using it for about 8 weeks and have noticed great improvement. my teen daughter started it about a week ago and she is glowing already. all because we saw it on your website. i should do a review on my blog too. i’ve emailed the website about specific products to use. for us we’ve been using coconut oil in pure form from whole foods…it’s worked wonders. still trying to find the perfect chemical-free sunscreen though. i feel like my skin is in such perfect balance that if i add one chemical it reacts now. love my tight pores though!!! thanks!

  18. I just found your blog recently and read your review on the WONDERBAR. After reading your review and the others you linked to – I splurged and it should arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait – I hope to post great results too.

  19. Nancy Shelley (Anne Scott's Mom) says:

    Hi Erika,
Just wanted to send greetings from your intern’s parents and thank you for the wonderful opportunity you are giving her. She is having a blast and learning so much and her Dad and I want to thank you for this great experience!! Your work is absolutley beautiful and inspiring and she couldn’t be in better hands. I hear you are having a birthday- hope it is very “happy” and have a great trip! It sounds so exciting! Thanks again for all you are doing for Anne Scott! Nancy

  20. just reviewed it on my blog and gave you credit for finding it…

  21. HI, I saw you when we were at the Red Bar a few months ago and came up and spoke to you. It’s such a small world. Anyway, I had been following your sister’s blog and now am following yours and I love it. I just thought it was really neat that when we were there last we found Little Red and fell in love with it!! You are one lucky girl to live there!! We go every couple of months and will be there again at the end of the month. Your baby girl is gorgeous!!

  22. Thank you. I have been anxiously awaiting the wonderbar review. You are so pretty and your skin always looks great.

  23. Many thanks for posting these great website resources. My girls are going to go nuts when they see their new hair clips. xoxo

  24. I live in Lexington and have never been to Bella Bliss. I’m going to check it out this week! Thanks!

  25. Ok… took the leap of faith and ordered the Wonderbar! Had the same questions as Tiffany though- what moisturizer and sunscreen do you use?- and please tell me you wear mineral makeup or something like me so I’ll feel better. My face is a freak of nature and oh so unpredictable and I’m trying to plan as best I can when it arrives. I sound like I’m expecting a baby instead of a face soap but these types of things are important! Thanks- and as always, love the blog.

  26. Erika, I’m so glad you like Bella Bliss as much as we do! Sloane is a great model for them:)I love the Berkely bubble, but my little one is too big for it:( To the Lexingtonian above – I can’t believe you haven’t been to the store!! It might be a good thing though…..that place is dangerous!

  27. I have 3 boys – 15, 13 and 9. I think my nieces each need a set of the felt hairclips! :)

  28. I noticed in a previous post that your daughter was wearing the Berkley Bubble by Bella Bliss. I monogram their line of swimwear for a children’s boutique website and I was so impressed with not only how well made their suits were but at the quality of the fabric. So impressed, that I ordered four suits for my girls…being in the children’s boutique business for many years I see a lot of cute things but if I buy it for my kids then it is really something special!

  29. just stumbled upon your blog. really fun to read! i just got lost in your interior design pictures. beautiful! i am sharing our site, it carries both giddy giddy and bella bliss so thought you would like! tada! shop to make shopping for kids easier!
