carry on

Well, it’s been an eventful few weeks around here. I could just carry on and act like life is peachy, but that wouldn’t be very honest.  We Powells have hit a rough patch and had a few (hundred) unfortunate issues to tackle.  We are okay.  We are on the mend.  2011 will not beat us.

Last week was rough.  We spent both Christmas Day and January 2nd in the Emergency Room.  Between those dates there was a visit to the doctor (I was sick), a dead car (Chance’s), and a flat tire (mine).  Sloane had an ear infection and ruptured eardrum on Christmas.  And On January 2nd I cooked the palm of my hand when I leaned on a ceramic cooktop burner that I had just turned off of high heat.  And yesterday I came back to work to a dead computer.  When it rains, it pours.

Here’s a picture of Sloane on Christmas morning… after hugging and “woofing” at the dog (laying on the floor) the first thing she went for was the plate of crumbs that Santa left behind.

That’s all I have for right now.  I’m turning off the comments because I’m not looking for sympathy, just wanted to let you know where I am.  Life has not been easy on me lately and I’m hibernating until it’s safe to come out.
