Anne’s your blogger!
E speaking (green): I have a new feature. I’m such a loon. I’m going to compare my guest bloggers to a piece of furniture. I know that’s really random… but it’s my blog and I can be random. SO, if Anne were a sofa, she’d be this one by Henredon.
Anne has been my best friend since I was 4 years old. She and I used to be very competitive over who had the cleanest room. {she wins} The last time I was in Chicago my dad and I had a conversation about Anne- about how there is no one on earth like her. She is so real. So transparent… in that you always know what she is thinking. And she is SO herself. Anne does not care what everyone else thinks – Anne is 100% Anne. She is such a hilarious person, sometimes by what she says, but usually by what she does. One time I drove to Orlando
You are: Anne Callard from Geneva Chicago
You do what: I work in leasing and sales for a commercial real estate company
What’s the last thing you bought online:
To be quite honest I’m scared of shopping online. I usually rely on my sister if I can only buy the item online (she does it all the time). I’m really afraid of someone stealing my credit card information. My last online purchase was hardware for my kitchen but I’m not sure if it really counts because I used Jeff’s credit card. {Anne, I should have ordered these for you – I was unaware of your online shopping phobia.} Pictured above (sorry if it’s blurry) is her fridge pulls… by Allied Brass.
Last song you downloaded on iTunes:
Once again I rely on Whitney {the sister}. She downloads all the songs on her computer and puts them on my iPod for me (Thanks Whit!!!). The last song I asked her to download was Rihanna, Shut Up and Drive. {thanks to "entertainment’s blog" for the photo}
Favorite Room in your house & why it is your favorite:
My kitchen, most likely because we just had it remodeled (it looks great thanks to all of Erika’s suggestions!!!). I am especially in love with my white marble countertops. {i love it when someone is not afraid of marble… anne’s is extra white statuary – i’m tempted to lick the computer screen… yum, they are good- the first photo was at night and second photo was a "progress shot" i had requested- hence the missing backsplash tile and the hardware. she and i talked Jeff (the bf) into the white sink… don’t you love it anne!? can’t wait to see it in person next weekend!}
What color are the walls in that room: The walls are currently Benjamin Moore, Fleecy Gold (I’m not sure that they even still make the color). Anyway, I want to change the color but I’m having a terrible time choosing a color….I wonder if my decorator has any ideas???
What’s the last thing you bought from a vending machine:
A Diet Dr. Pepper
Who inspires you:
My good friend Yana
Last book you read:
I think the last book I read was The Pact by Jodi Picoult. She is one of my favorite authors. If you haven’t read any of her books I strongly recommend them.
What’s in the trunk of your car: My work bag, my gym bag, a couple of pairs of pants that need to be hemmed, and last but not least antibacterial hand wipes.
Germex are my favorite because they don’t dry out your hands. Their hand sanitizer is also great!
What perfume do you wear on a regular basis:
Hermes – Caleche Eau Delicate {thank you Hermes for the beautiful image}
If you were to create the“essential cleaning kit” what would it consist of:
Oh boy….where do I begin?!! I love to clean although you wouldn’t think so if you saw my house right now. I love bleach. I know the smell drives most people crazy but not me. If I smell bleach I immediately think clean. Clorox Cleanup works great on everything. I am also a huge fan of Soft Scrub Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser. {it smells really good too}
This stuff is amazing. I told my mom about it and she said it even cleans brass. It is really powerful stuff and is especially great for shower tile. Do not use it on marble….I learned this the hard way. Another great thing to have on hand is Lysol Disinfecting Wipes.
They are great for quick clean-up but are also very durable and can even handle tough jobs (don’t waste your time with the Clorox wipes, they don’t work nearly as well). I still think the best thing for mirrors and glass is good old Windex.
Now, I know Darby recently tried to sell everyone on Purex but when it comes to laundry Tide Original Scent Powder with Bleach Alternative still takes the cake. It cleans so well and leaves your clothes smelling really clean.
If you are looking for a good stain remover try Clorox Oxi Magic. It takes out everything. As you can probably tell I could go on forever about this particular topic and just in case there are readers out there that don’t share the same love for cleaning, I think I may close for now and work on a Part II for a later time.
What’s top on your Christmas list: I’m not sure what I want for Christmas. I haven’t really thought about it yet. I am having too much fun finding presents for Finley’s (my niece) first Christmas!
Where did you go the last time you flew on an airplane: Florida
What’s your favorite indulgence: Without a doubt, shopping!!!
What 5 items would you consider as staples (essentials) in your wardrobe:
Since I work and am practical at heart:
1) black pants
2) sweater sets
3) turtlenecks (it gets really cold here in the winter)
4) good shoes
5) and most importantly anything Lilly!
