thankful

Hello faithful blog readers.  I was on a roll blogging with the posts about the Coastal Living house and then I got distracted.  Traveling and working a whole lot lately, so I’ve been trying to spend every second of precious free time with my little family.  A few weeks ago Marla took our pictures, it had been a year since our last session with her so I was excited about capturing memories of Sloane at this precious age (she’s three now, how time flies).  Marla lives down the street, which is also down the bayou, so we hopped on the boat, picked her up on her dock and headed to what we like to call “The Hill”…. a deep cut created by the Intracoastal Waterway that is not only breathtaking, but also lots of fun for Sloane who likes to climb, dig and get dirty.   I thought I’d share a handful of my favorites from our session…

Hate to presume that anyone will ask, but someone usually does…  Sloane’s little sweater came from Children’s Place, I ran in for socks and came out with that sweater, oops.  Her aqua jeans are Old Navy.  My top is from my friends at Willow + Woods, they have an online store now (Wear Willow), which is fantastic.  The top is Lauren Moffatt, not sure if it’s still available on their website, but perhaps you could call and order it 850-231-0248.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for this year.

Good morning, friends.  I don’t have a post together, but I love these photos so figured I would share them.  One morning I found these two laying on the daybed talking about that fox in Sloane’s hand.  The lighting was so nice I ran back downstairs for my camera.  Mornings are sweet around here.  I remember distinctly the day Sloane came out of her bedroom on her own for the first time.  She stood at the top of the stairs and shouted, “I waked up, Momma!”  That tiny little voice and big messy fresh-from-the-bed hair, I could gobble her up.

This is the daybed that I recently posted about finally ordering pillows for.  My collection of Paint By Numbers has been in the works for years, slowly collecting them and storing them in a drawer until I had enough to make an impact.  I have two more to add to the collection that aren’t hung yet.  I had the daybed made years ago by a local carpenter.  It was inspired by one that Habersham used to make.  It holds a twin mattress and is a great spot for my nieces and nephews to sleep when they visit!

I’ll be back soon with our summer wish lists… stay tuned!

Apologies for posting too many photos and believe it or not there are a lot more here if you care.  We had a wonderful time at my parents farm in Southern Illinois over Christmas.  My brain isn’t working well today and I can’t seem to put words together… so I will just leave you with some photos and the promise that I will try to be back soon! Happy New Year, friends!
