toast & laurel

When I got back to the office on Tuesday there was a pretty package on  my desk.  Pretty packages are always fun.  It was from Megan, one of our clients in Houston, we love her!  {We love all our clients!}  As a graphic designer she understands the creativity process and has trusted us with more than one room in her house… we can’t wait to show you her master bedroom when we complete it!  Her note indicated that what was in the package was a congrats for our publications in Coastal Living and Southern Living earlier this year.

When we opened the boxes this is what we found…

You probably do not recall, but when I posted the magazine features the blog post was titled “coastal and southern”.  To celebrate the features Megan designed these notecards for us and we LOVE them.  The gray stripe looks familiar… it is the blog background!  We have been passing notes around the office like email is a thing of the past.   We LOVE them.  LOVE.

Megan’s business is Toast & Laurel.  Here are a couple other delights she has designed…

Check out her WEBSITE for links to her minted and etsy sites!  She can customize anything… she’s currently working on invites for Sloane’s First Birthday!  Yeah! THANK YOU MEGAN!!

Monday, Monday

Bayn (my brother-in-law) informed me yesterday that my blog needs to be updated more often.  I had to remind him what all has been going on in my life lately.  I didn't mention the work and the emails that I can't even find time to respond to… but because I love him (and you, my readers) here I am.  I am making an attempt to do better.

I'm pulling some stuff from my favorites… and today it is this:

Muff_house_court

This house is in Charleston, SC… where I recently traveled, but somehow missed this gem.

It belongs to Muffie, who runs ESD (Elizabeth Stewart Designs) in Charleston… where I did happen to visit.  I bought a couple things and enjoyed the shop immensely. Courtney interviewed Muffie's take on art collecting… it's an awesome post and such a great reminder that art needs to be loved- not something you pick just to "decorate". Read more about Muffie in these posts.

And something else wonderful from Style Court. Haskell Harris (was at Cottage Living, now at Garden & Gun) must have provided Courtney with these photos of her house in Birmingham… they are large images (click on them) and soak them all up.  They are good.  Haskell is blogging too… check her out here.

Remember her bedroom?

Well, here's her living room…

It all suits the house so well…

I cannot get this above image out of my head!  I clipped it from House Beautiful July of ’06.  Then my neighbor gave it to me when we started doing a little updating on her house, and then again just last week I sent it to a friend for inspiration for her house… truth be known have opened this article from Ruby Beet’s website like 20 times in the past few weeks.   We (hubby and I) are working on a remodel project at the house this weekend and this home is inspiring me. It is a delightful mix of finishes, peaceful, serene, inviting, unpretentious, unusual (eclectic)… everything I love all bundled into one package.
